Hi, I'm Shubhra!
I am a filmmaker, designer, and visual researcher investigating how communities preserve identity, memory, and coexistence amid environmental change. I graduated with a Bachelors of Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India. My recent interests include public transport systems, travel-memoirs and birding.

Speaking at VizChitra 2026
Took the stage at VizChitra 2026, India's first dataviz conference, to share the story behind the Majestic maps redesign. I spoke about how working with public data is a collaboration and negotiation. I also showed how the new maps make the operational logic behind BMTC Majestic visible for the first time.
Conducting sessions on urban mobility
Conducted two sessions at IIHS (Indian Institute of Human Settlements) with 50+ government officials on sustainable mobility and design for cities. Was also a mentor in YLAC's student ambassador program.
Looking China Youth Film Program 2024
Invited as one of 90 international filmmakers to make a film on Uyghur culture in Xinjiang, China. My group consisted of 10 filmmakers from the BRICS countries (Russia, South Africa, Brazil and India). We also attended the closing ceremony in Beijing. I got to meet such incredible people and travel to 1-3 tier cities in China, as well as visit the Great Wall!
